My Personal Financial Situation:
I’m in my late twenties, married with two young kids. I have a good job that I really enjoy and pays well. I’ve always been frugal with money, and have never had a significant amount of debt. As of August 2007, we are debt free, except for a revolving credit card balance that I pay off in full each month. I’m now working towards building wealth, and trying to do that as effectively as possible.
Like many people, I am on the Internet pretty much all day. Pretty much anything I do to earn or invest money will be done online. I have experimented with various websites and blogs with a little success. I’m also investing some money in peer-to-peer lending sites like Prosper and LendingClub to see if I can get them making some money for me.
The purpose of this site and blog:
I think about money all of the time. I think I have some pretty good ideas and thought that others might benefit from them. Also, I sometimes come up with an interesting way to earn or save money that I think others might be interested in. Some ideas require a little web-based ‘tool’, which I’ll develop and put on this site somewhere too.
What does ‘odnal’ mean:
‘Odnal’ is ‘Lando’ spelled backwards. I’ve been a fan of Star Wars for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite characters is Lando Calrissian – he’s the businessman that runs Cloud City in Empire Strikes back, and he helps to rescue Luke from Jabba’s Palace in Return of the Jedi. In some of the books, you get to see Lando’s character a little more, and he’s the type who is always looking for business opportunities. I sortof identify with him, and have used ‘odnal’ as a screen name for as long as I can remember.
